A 12-year-old is charged as a juvenile in the weekend slaying of D’Vonte Relford, 25, of Detroit, the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office announced Tuesday.
Detrot Police were called around 9:30 p.m. Sunday to the 16600 block of Mark Twain on the west side, where they found Relford -- shot multiple times -- on the ground outside a home, authorities said. He was pronounced dead at a hospital.
The boy is accused of firing a handgun during a fight, hitting Relford in the back. He is charged with one count of manslaughter and one count of felony firearm use.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled Tuesday afternoon before Magistrate Leslie Graves at the Juvenile Detention Center.
