<p>Allan Lengel, a co-founder of Deadline Detroit, is a veteran journalist who has worked at major publications including the Washington Post and the Detroit News. He served as an intern under the late investigative columnist Jack Anderson, taught journalism at the University of Maryland and was a contributing reporter for the ABC News Brian Ross Investigative Unit. He is also editor of a website on federal law enforcement news called <a href="http://www.ticklethewire.com" title="http://www.ticklethewire.com" target="_blank">ticklethewire.com</a>. </p> <p>Over the years, Lengel has covered major events including the 9-11 attacks, the Congressman William Jefferson investigation, the Chandra Levy probe, the anthrax attacks, the Oklahoma City bombing and the trial of Detroit Police Chief William Hart. Annabel Ames is a junior at the University of Missouri, studying magazine journalism and English. She has previously written for the metro and entertainment sections of the Detroit Free Press and covered a weekly news beat for the student newspaper, The Maneater. She also manages her college's literary magazine. She is from Grosse Pointe Park, MI.
<p>Ben Duell Fraser is a founder of <a href="http://www.pishposh.tv">PishPosh.Tv</a>, a video production and content creation company where he and his partner built out a video studio and physical computing training space.</p> <p>He also teaches highschoolers to program at <a href="http://www.grandcircus.co/">Grand Circus Detroit</a>, kindergartners to play soccer at <a href="http://choicesineducation.com/schools/escuela-avancemos/">Escuela Avancemos</a>, and moderates the Detroit subreddit, at <a href="http://www.reddit.com/r/detroit">reddit.com/r/detroit</a>. He runs the monthly <a href="https://www.facebook.com/groups/313HappyHour/">313HappyHour</a> meetup group, is the captain of the <a href="http://www.detroitcityfutbol.com">DCFL</a> Woodbridge Trolls Futbol Club, and occasionally tweets from <a href="https://twitter.com/bdcanuck">@BDCanuck</a>.</p>
<p>A native Detroiter, Bill McGraw worked at the Detroit Free Press for 32 years as a city-desk reporter, sports writer, Canada correspondent, editor and columnist. He has been the editor of three books: “Great Pages in Michigan History,” “The Quotations of Mayor Coleman A. Young” and The Detroit Almanac. His writing also has appeared in the New York Times, Washington Post, Newsweek, the Toronto Globe and Mail, Firehouse, History Workshop Journal, the Fifth Estate and Orbit. </p>
<p>Catherine has reported on a variety of issues including the environment, housing and municipal governments. She spent the last two years at Michigan Radio working on the daily news podcast, Stateside. She is a graduate of the University of Michigan where she discovered her love for audio journalism at The Michigan Daily.<p>

<p>Danny Fenster is a writer and freelance journalist currently based in Detroit. A graduate of the journalism school at Columbia College Chicago, he has written for local and national newspapers, magazines and websites, covering public affairs, music and culture. He is a graduate student in the English department at Wayne State University, where he is studying narrative nonfiction.</p>
<p> Darrell Dawsey is a local freelance journalist. He is the author or co-author of four books, including the best-selling “I Ain’t Scared of You: Bernie Mac on How Life Is” and “Ten Ways Not to Commit Suicide,” with rap legend Darryl “DMC” McDaniels. Darrell has been a reporter for several major metropolitan newspapers, including the Los Angeles Times, the Detroit News, the New York Daily News and the Philadelphia Inquirer. <p>Doron Levin has been a journalist and author in Detroit since 1984, having covered business, finance and the auto industry for The Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Detroit Free Press and Bloomberg.</p>
<p>Greg Bowens is a veteran journalist, civil rights activist and public relations professional. He has worked at various publications including the Congressional Quarterly Magazine, Flint Journal and the Detroit News covering politics, business and public education. Bowens sits on the executive board of the Democratic Party’s 14th Congressional District and is also the co-founder and president of the Grosse Pointes-Harper Woods NAACP Branch. </p>
<p>Jack Thomas joined Deadline Detroit as an intern in 2019. He is also a contributor to Wayne State University's paper, The South End, and a camera operator for MetroArts, a Detroit Public Television series. He previously worked on newscasts for 101.9 WDET. When time permits, he's a songwriter and musician.</p>
Jalal Abdallah is in his final year of studies at Thomas M. Cooley Law School at Western Michigan University. He graduated from the University of Michigan-Dearborn with a Bachelor of Arts. Jalal is interested in covering Millennials, sports, politics and stories that are not easily accessible to mainstream readers.
J. Gabriel Ware is a Detroit native. He earned an associate of arts degree from Wayne County Community College in 2014 and a bachelors in journalism from Western Michigan University in 2016. He is also earning a masters in communication at WMU.
