18 Detroit School Employees Suspended in $400,000-plus Unemployment Scam

As if the Detroit Public School system isn't hurting enough.

The Freep reports that Detroit suspended 18 employees, who were collecting unemployment while working for the school district. Another 14 former employees were also suspected of being in on the scam. 

The fraud reportedly cost the district $470,464. Ouch! -- A.L.
