A pair of Macomb County buddied were arrested Thursday on charges of partaking in the Jan. 6 insurrection at the U.S. Capitol, The Macomb Daily reports. The arrest came after photos and other evidence placed them at the Capitol.
Daniel Herendeen, 43, of Chesterfield Township and Robert "Bobby" Schornak, 39, of Roseville face charges of obstruction of Congress, aiding and abetting, knowingly entering a restricted area, violent entry and disorderly conduct.
The duo made their initial appearance Thursday before U.S. Magistrate Judge Patricia Morris in Michigan, the suburban paper says:
Federal authorities say they learned from witnesses the two planned to carry body armor, a knife, helmets and gear that included "Antifa spray."
Unsealed documents show a video posted on Facebook -- and later deleted -- of Herendeen inside the Capitol crypt. He is seen wearing the items described by the witness including an American flag face mask. FBI agents say the post includes comments from friends of Herendeen praising him for "standing up for our American rights."
