West Bloomfield High School

West Bloomfield High School has experienced unusual challenges in the past couple of years, In 2015, three sophomores committed suicide. In February, popular theater teacher Micah Green died.

Now two students are been suspended after disturbing images were found on their phones, including a swastika, a handgun and an apparent joke about the school being the scene of a shooting spree, reports Tresa Baldas of the Detroit Free Press.

Police detectives didn't take it as a joke and visited  the homes of several students.

The probe began Dec. 6 when a girl came to the police station to report that she was being bullied at school, Chief Michael Patton tells the Freep.

Patton said investigators found "concerning" online images that bolstered the complaint about threatening behavior.

One post stirring worries came from a student using an app that lets people geographically locate each other. She was at West Bloomfield High School, which she relabeled "School shooting site number 3."

"Displays of swastikas and guns are not funny," the chief says. But no one will be charged criminally.
