Anyone looking for housing in Midtown or downtown soon finds out that there's a pretty limited supply.
That being said, here comes some additional housing stock.
Kirk Pinho of Crain's Detroit Business reports that construction is slated to begin in the spring for a a $10 million, 58-unit town home development in Midtown called Nailah Commons on East Ferry Street west of Chrysler Drive.
Crain's reports the project is being financed with funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, Invest Detroit and Capital Impact Partners, and 20 percent of the 46 one-bedroom and 12 two-bedroom units will be for affordable housing, he said.
The website for the development states:
The design of the residential buildings incorporates a classic townhouse design with each unit containing three floors stacked vertically.
