There's always a debate on how much crime to report in the media. Too much can desensitize the public. Not enough can leave the impression that the media ignores a problem that continues to plague Detroit.
Here's a story that's a reminder of the pervasive problem.
An 81-year-old man was beaten, robbed, and carjacked outside his Rivard Street apartment Saturday night shortly before 9 p.m.," Hilary Golston of Fox 2 reports.
After pistol whipping the man in the head twice, the suspects got away with his 2016 gray Lincoln MKX with tinted windows. The two suspects are believed to be in their 20s.
