Animal lovers, relax: The basset hound at the center of a bestiality case at beleaguered Michigan State University has been placed with a new family, according to the Detroit News.

The droopy-lidded Flash (a name bestowed by his caretakers at Ingham County, which seems important to note) was allegedly the dog penetrated with "both hands and penis" by MSU physicist Joseph Hattey, 51, of Holt, according to Attorney General Bill Schuette's office.
John Dinon, director of the Ingham County Animal Control and Shelter, told the News that Flash is now "in a great home, with a great family," but because of his status as a piece of evidence, "he's basically in witness protection."
