Bad News In Midtown: Coffee Joint Goes Bottom Up

We're used to upbeat news these days about new places sprouting up, left and right, in downtown and in Midtown.

Here's a little bad news.

Biggby Coffee at 4501 Woodward Ave. in the Studio One Building closed abruptly, Paul Beshouri reports at Curbed Detroit.

The coffee joint displays a goodbye note blaming "economic situations beyond our control," Curbed says. Rising rent may be at least part of the reason, the site notes.
