Red Wings move over? Well, not quite.

A minor league hockey team is  coming to St. Clair Shores, Mitch Hotts writes in The Macomb Daily.

City officials approved plans to bring the Federal Hockey League to the Civic Arena on Stephens Road. The paper reports that the plans call for 27 games, 10 special events and construction of four new locker rooms.

“We think St. Clair Shores was the original Hockeytown, so it’s only fitting to have professional hockey in the city,” Mayor Kip Walby said Wednesday, according the paper.

“We are bringing very reasonably priced, good family entertainment here and it will create a buzz for the city. We have a great program with the St. Clair Shores Hockey Association and this will add another element.”

Tickets will cost about $10-$12 a game.
