Jayru Campbell, the 17-year-old Detroit Cass Tech football star accused of body-slamming a school security officer into the floor, agreed to a plea deal this morning that will result in his criminal record being erased if he successfully completes all the terms.

Elisha Anderson reports in the Free Press that as part of the plea,  Campbell must attend and participate in psychological counseling and anger management classes until he is discharged. He must also write a letter of apology to the officer he injured that will be read in court, undergo a psychological evaluation prior to sentencing and pay any unpaid medical bills of the victim.

The felony charge of assault with intent to do great bodily harm will be dismissed in the case and he pleaded guilty to the misdemeanor charge of aggravated assault.

Campbell has committed to play at Michigan State.
