Detroit Police Chief James Craig continued Thursday to carry out mass arrests around the city. It's the fifth high-profile sweep in three months.
About 400 officers and agents raided 14 locations over six square miles to execute arrest warrants for 40 people, Michael Martinez reports in The Detroit News.
Raids included places in the first, fourth and 13th precincts, the News reports.
Martinez writes:
Called “Operation Eye to Eye,” police said Thursday they were targeting criminals who sold narcotics or preyed on residents. Detroit police were assisted by the Michigan State Police, U.S. Marshals, Wayne County Sheriff’s Department, FBI and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
