A 49-year-old Redford Township man was arraigned Monday in Detroit 36th District Court in connection with last week's carjacking of two senior citizens in the garage at the MotorCity Casino.
A report here incorrectly stated that the arraignment was to be today. He faces a probable cause conference next Monday.
Wayne Darrell Jones, 49, was arraigned Monday and bond was set at $100,000.
The man is accused of carjacking a 68-year-old Sterling Heights woman and a 78-year-old Clinton Township woman as they were leaving the MotorCity Casino around 5:30 a.m.
Authorities say the man got into the car with the two women, produced a handgun, demanded money and took their purses. He ordered the 68-year-old woman to drive the car.
When they reached a field near Schoolcraft and Appoline Street he ordered the women out of the car and drove away, WDIV sayss.
