Lee Thomas was on Fox 2 on Thursday

It caused quite a stir in March when word got out that Fox 2 was cutting popular on-air personalities Lee Thomas, Murray Feldman and Jason Carr for budget purposes.

Viewers were angry. So were folks inside the station. Feldman continued on with his gig at WWJ radio. He had that job while working at Fox 2.  And Carr eventually landed a job with WDIV. But up until now, there was no word as to what Thomas was up to.

On Thursday,  Fox 2 announced that Thomas is returning to the station to be an entertainment reporter and will appear on the morning show, "The Nine," every Thursday and Friday.

Thomas, who appeared on Fox 2 on Thursday, said how appreciative he was for all the support from viewers after he got cut from the station. Thomas, Feldman and Carr all officially left the station on May 23.

Fox 2 did not immediately return a phone call from Deadline Detroit to say whether Thomas will be  a full or part-time employee Attempts to reach Thomas were unsuccessful.
