Allen Park's mayor and members of its City Council will see their salaries cut in half as one of several measures to be implemented by the city's emergency financial manager, the city announced Wednesday.

Bill Laitner of the Free Press reports Joyce Parker plans to slow the city's flow of red ink with extensive wage and benefit cuts for city workers, the sale of underutilized city parks and city-owned vacant lots, and the consolidation of fire service with a neighboring community, she said in a statement.
