
If you're planning a trip to Canada, you might want to consider crossing the border at the Blue Water Bridge in Port Huron. That's because Blue Water's tolls are $3 from the U.S. to Canada and $3.50 from Canada to the U.S. and the Ambassador Bridge is raising it's rates for the second time in a year.
Detroit News: According to its website, the new fee for automobiles, passenger vehicles, station wagons, personal vans and empty pickups is now $5, up from $4.75.
In July 2012 the bridge company raised its fare from $4 per personal vehicle to $4.75.
It's almost like ol' Matty Moroun is trying to disprove the conventional wisdom that the private sector can do things cheaper and in a more customer-friendly manner than the government.
