Inkster Judge Sylvia James knows it probably wasn’t technically “legal” to spend court funds on her personal favorite community projects, but by gummit those cheerleaders needed new uniforms. If it’s out-of-order for an elected judge to use the public treasury to buy some cheerleaders new uniforms then this entire system is out-of-order.

Besides, who can really understand all that fine print legal mumbo jumbo anyway? Sylvia James is just a humble judge trying to use other people’s money to support something she cares deeply about…and that might help her curry favor with voters. Should that really be against the law?
