Attorney Arnold Reed says the Oakland County Medical Examiner's Office misdiagnosed the cause of death of radio host Angelo Henderson, based on the results of a private autopsy.
The independent autopsy performed last month by forensic pathologist Dr. Werner Spitz indicated Henderson died of a coronary embolism that originated in his leg Feb. 15, Reed told the Detroit News. Henderson, 51, had surgery in January for a torn tendon in his knee after a fall. He died about three weeks after the surgery.
The Oakland County Medical Examiner’s Office said Henderson died of hypertension and other causes.
Henderson was host of “Your Voice With Angelo Henderson” on WCHB-AM (1200) and a Pultizer Prize winning journalist when he worked for the Wall Street Journal. He also was a reporter at the Detroit News as well as was a community activist and minister.
