A man driving northbound on the Lodge Freeway at the Davison in Detroit said a motorist opened fire on his car early Monday morning. He was not injured.
The victim drove home to Southfield and then called 911 around 3:50 a.m. The northbound lanes were closed while police searched for bullet casings. Michigan State Police Lt. Michael Shaw tells Deadline Detroit the freeway reopened around 8:15 a.m.
The victim tells police it was not a road rage incident, and he's not sure why the man starting firing.
He said he left downtown and was headed north on the Lodge when the shooter in a black Ford drove up next to him, started yelling and then opened fire.
Shaw said police are working figure out what happened.
