Detroit cops launched more high-profile raids on Thursday. It was the eighth Operation Restore Order.
George Hunter of the Detroit News reported that the raids focused on crime on east and west Seven Mile including two east side gangs. Cops also targeted those involved in narcotics and robberies.
“Two gangs have been involved in six retaliation incidents in the past couple weeks,” Police Chief James Craig said according to the News. “Our goal is to shut them down and send a message that this will not be tolerated.”
The News reported that cops planned to serve 180 warrants for criminal activity ranging from parole and probation violations to drug offenses and robberies.
