The continuing battle over abortion legislation that has waged loudly in Lansing last year is shaping up as another front-burner issue in the Capitol this year, Kathleen Gray reports in the Free Press.

At least six bills regarding abortion have already been introduced. Some are retreads of measures brought up last year that either didn't make it through the Legislature or were vetoed by Gov. Rick Snyder.

Others are more controversial, such as a bill that would require abortions performed after 19 weeks to be done in a hospital with a neonatal unit. Another bill would require that, at least two hours before an abortion, women have a vaginal ultrasound that would be available to show the development of the fetus.
