Police are trying to determine if two Metro Detroit carjackings Monday night, just hours apart, are linked, Fox 2 reports. Three people have been arrested.

The first carjacking around 6:40 p.m. in Dearborn involved the theft of a Dodge Charger on Yinger near Hemlock. A woman was yanked from a car and assaulted while her fiance was held at gunpoint, authorities say.

Three men were arrested later on Schaefer near Haggerty in Dearborn, the station says.

Police are trying to determine if the suspects were involved in the Dearborn incident and a shooting and carjacking later that night at a gas station on Southfield and Lincoln in Southfield after 10 p.m. More details on the Southfield carjacking were not available immediatley.

"There’s been similar crimes in other parts of our region and we’re going to leave no stone unturned," Dearborn Police Chief Ronald Haddad tells Fox 2
