Atomic Chicken, which has a Clawson location, hopes to open a spot at 6500 Woodward Avenue in Detroit's New Center area in early spring, perhaps late March or early April, Eater Detroit reports.
Partner Scott Moloney tells Brenna Houck: "If it’s not open in four weeks I will be extremely disappointed."
The Detroit location was expected to open before the Clawson one, but permitting, construction, and Q-Line-related delays pushed the debut way back.
The menu includes chicken and waffles and chicken prepared different ways including "Motor City Hot," which is marinated in habanero and chipotle-spiked buttermilk, and "The Ginger, made with Vernors and sweet garlic marinade. One dessert choice is Faygo Rock'n Rye cake.
