The lesson: Don't take out your anger on a cake.

Tricia Ann Kortes, 46, of Bloomfield Hills, is being charged with tumultuous conduct  for disturbing the peace after allegedly drop-kicking a birthday cake in a Bloomfield Hills Kroger, Breana Noble of The Detroit News reports. Kortes is scheduled to be arraigned on the misdemeanor charge on June 29 in 48th District Court.

Kortes went to pick up a "Superman v Batman" birthday cake she ordered on June 11.

The store manager tells police Kortes went to the bakery to pick up the cake and was dissatisfied with the decoration, so she went behind the counter to fix it. Workers told her she couldn't be there.

Kortes then allegedly took the cake to the front of the counter and drop-kicked it, The News reports, causing the cake and frosting to go flying.

Not the victim of Tricia Kortes' alleged tantrum, but we feel it recreates the scene nicely.

WXYZ reported earlier

A witness told police Kortes yelled, "They fucking ruined my 7-year-old's birthday cake!"

The TV station now adds this background:

This isn't the first time Kortes has reportedly lost her cool.

In 2015, in Troy, she was charged with assault and battery. She later pled to disorderly person and, two weeks ago, she was ordered to pay a $500 fine and attend anger management.

Online records show that Kortes was also charged with an assault in 2003 in King County, Wash. The same records indicate she was placed on probation for a year.

WXYZ spoke with defense attorney Gerald Gleeson, a principal at the prestigious Miller Canfield firm, who issued a statement from his office in Troy:

It appears that this matter has been blown out of proportion, and we look forward to resolving the matter at the appropriate time.

And in the interim period, we are seeking counseling.
