Law enforcement authorities were still looking Tuesday for a police radio inmate Abraham Pearson stole after stabbing a sheriff's deputy with a plastic comb Monday morning and escaping from the Frank Murphy Hall of Justice in Detroit. He was captured last night on the city's east side.
While the hunt for the radio continued, law enforcement sources said police recovered a cell phone Abraham stole from the deputy. The phone was found inside the stolen vehicle he carjacked and later abandon on Jefferson and Concord behind a Church's Fried Chicken.
Abraham also stole the deputies uniform. The shirt was later found on the sidewalk near the Harbor House bar in the Greektown area, and the pants were recovered on the east side of Detroit, the sources said.
The Detroit News reported that Abraham will be arraigned Wednesday on more than 10 additional charges, including assault with intent to murder, unlawful imprisonment and impersonating a peace officer to commit a crime.
The deputy Harrison Tolliver was not seriously wounded.
