The Avalon Bakery Cafe and Bakery plans to open an outlet April 14 at 1049 Woodward Av.e in downtown Detroit, opposite One Campus Martius.
It will offer takeout items and pizza, and also sell baked goods, coffee, beer and wine.
It's Avalon's third retail site in Detroit. The others are on Willis in Midtown and the front of the main production facility at 4731 Bellevue Street, off of Gratiot on the east side.
Jackie Victor, co-founder of Avalon International Breads, made the announcement during a tour of the bakery's 50,000-square- foot baking facility.
