Avalon International Breads continues to expand its footprint in Detroit.
The latest: The company has now opened the Avalon Cafe and Biscuit Bar at 2990 W. Grand Blvd in the New Center, in a space previously occupied by Cafe Con Leche.
It's Avalon's fourth Detroit retail location. Earlier this year, Avalon opened a shop in downtown Detroit.
On Thursday, from 4-7 p.m., Avalon is having a grand opening celebration that will include an ice cream social for $5, biscuit crafting for $5 and games and activities.
All proceeds from the event will benefit Oakland Avenue Urban Farm, a community-based organization dedicated to cultivating healthy foods, sustainable economies and active cultural environments.
