WDIV won the Michigan Association of Broadcasters top investigative award for a report on the problem of water running in abandon homes in Detroit.
Kevin Dietz was the reporter for the piece, and on his Facebook page he writes:
Michigan Association of Broadcasters top investigative award goes to....Me! .... And of course the producer, photographer, and editor who do all the real work! Way to go Defenders! Congrats to all the winners and nominees!
The awards were given out this week in Lansing. WXYZ won an award for Station of the Year.
