A 52-year-old Ferndale man is accused of a foolhardy action on Easter night, Michael P. McConnell writes in the Daily Tribune.
“Basically, he was stealing bikes from police,” said Ferndale Police Sgt. Patrick Jones.

Cops were called by a neighbor who saw suspicious activity late Sunday at the police lot for impounded vehicles and bikes on Burdette Street, according to the Trib.
“The caller said the same thing had happened a few days before,” Jones said. . . .
Stuart T. Phillips, 52, was arraigned Monday in Ferndale 43rd District Court on misdemeanor charges of larceny, receiving and concealing stolen goods. . . . Phillips is jailed on $750 bond.
Officers recovered six bikes.
