Tired of listening to so many candidates tell you what a great governor, senator or U.S. House member they would make? Well, the field is about to narrow after Tuesday's primary.
On Sunday, candidates tried to shore up last-chance votes.
Former state Senate Minority Leader Gretchen Whitmer rallied voters at Gordon Park in Detroit, where she was joined by Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan, U.S. Rep. Brenda Lawrence of Southfield and Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy, The Detroit News reports.
At Cobo Center, former Detroit health director Abdul El-Sayed campaigned with Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont.
"I'm here not only because I support the very bold and progressive ideas of Abdul, but because I appreciate the kind of campaign that he is running," Sanders told the crowd of around 1,400 supporters Sunday afternoon, according to MLive.
Democratic candidate and busienssman Shri Thanedar hosted his own get-out-the-vote rally Saturday at the Sheffield Center in Detroit.
Polls indicate Whitmer will face off against Republican Attorney General Bill Schuette. Schuette toured a mobile app development company in downtown Grand Rapids over the weekend, according to Bridge Magazine. Lt. Gov. Brian Calley also hit the city, before heading toward the Lake Michigan shoreline Friday.
