Two Lansing protests against Gov. Gretchen Whitmer's stay-home order have become a subject of both praise condemnation across the country.
On Thursday, presidential candidate Joe Biden posted a 60-second campaign commercial on twitter, which shows a picture of gun-toting Lansing demonstrators and Trump saying:
"These are people expressing their views. They seem to be very responsible to me."
The commercial also addresses Trump's beef with governors who he thinks have shown too little appreciation for him during the pandemic
"I want them to be appreciatve," Trump says in commercial. "I say 'Mike, don't call the governor of Washington. Don't call the woman in Michigan.' If they don't treat you right, I don't call."
The commercial ends with: "Real Presidents Lead. Reality Presidents Don't."
Michigan is expected to be a key battleground state in the upcoming election. Trump narrowly defeated Hillary Clinton in 2016 by 10,704 votes.
