
For the Big 3 Automakers, 2013 was a very good year.
Karl Henkel of the Detroit News reports that the U.S. automakers combinedf for the best sales year since 2007, the year before the economy collapsed.
Ford Motor Co. said Friday that sales were up 10.8 percent over last year while Chrysler reported a 9 percent hike over 2012and General Motors had a 7 percent sales gain.

Chrysler sold 1.8 million cars and trucks last year, up from 1.65 million the year before. Strong sales of the Ram pickup, which climbed 21 percent to 355,673, and of the Durango SUV, which jumped 43 percent to 60,727, helped lead Chrysler in 2013.
