The Bob Bashara murder trial enters its second day today in Wayne County Circuit Court, and if Tuesday was any indication of what's to come, the trial should be chock-full of compelling testimony.

On Tuesday, Robert Godard,  a long-time friend testified that  Bashara, who is accused of killing his wife Jane, was upset his wife was not interested in living a kinky lifestyle, George Hunter of the Detroit News reports.

Godard testified that Bashara introduced him to an alternative lifestyle involving dungeons, masters and slaves, the News reported.

"Bob had several slaves; all female?" Assistant Wayne County Prosecutor Lisa Lindsey asked Godard, who answered, "Yes."

"He had told me he and his wife were having a lot of problems; she did not want to participate in the BDSM (bondage-discipline-sadomasochism)," Godard said, according to the News. "Eventually after his kids were out of school, he was going to leave her."

Bashara is accused of hiring handyman Joe Gentz to kill his wife. Gentz has pleaded guilty to that and is serving 17-28 years. Prosecutors say he wanted to get rid of his wife to move on with his preferred lifestyle.
