It was a tragic ending to a tragic beginning that started two days ago with the abduction of Deontae Mitchell, 13, outside a market in Detroit.
On Thursday morning, Mitchell's body was found in a field near Harper and Baldwin on Detroit's east side, about five miles from Nino's Market on E. Warren, where he was apparently snatched from, reports George Hunter and Holly Fournier of the Detroit News.
Suspected kidnapper Gregory Walker, 45 of Detroit, was arrested in Ohio, Lt. Mike Shaw said earlier Thursday morning, according to the News.
Walker allegedly grabbed Deontae late Tuesday in an abduction caught on surveillance cameras, the News reports.
Detroit Police Chief James Craig said a female companion of Walker's was taken into custody.
