A 3-year-old boy was fatally shot in Clinton Township on Tuesday afternoon in what appears to be an accident.
The incident happened at an apartment complex on Lotus street around 1 p.m.
Police said the boy was was playing with other children, with his mother nearby, when a gun went off, John Steckroth and Derick Hutchinson of WDIV report.
Police said the children may have been playing with a gun that a man dropped at the apartment complex.
Authorities are looking for the man and the gun.
More details are expected to be surface later.
