Bridge: Flint Emergency Manager to Be EM for Detroit Schools

Chastity Pratt Dawsey of Bridge Magazine reports that Gov.Rick Snyder intends to appoint Darnell Earley, current emergency manager of Flint, as the new Detroit Public Schools emergency manager, replacing outgoing Jack Martin.

Earley's appointment in Flint is set to expire in April. The online publication cites "two sources with knowledge of the choice."

Dave Murray, spokesman for the governor, declined to confirm Earley’s appointment, saying only that “a strong public school district is an important part of Detroit’s comeback,” Bridge reported.

Bridge reports that Friday is Martin’s unofficial end to his 18-month term.
