Brother Fatally Shoots Teen Sister

It's being described as a freak accident.

A 15-year-old girl was fatally shot Saturday afternoon from a gun her brother was reportedly playing with in their Eastside Detroit home, WXYZ-TV reported.
Kadijah James was pronounced dead at the hospital from a gunshot wound to the chest.

“The gun accidentally went off and hit her in the chest,” said aunt Charmaine Crowell.

Family members told WXYZ-TV that police took the brother in for questioning and believe the gun was bought off the street.

“She was good. She was an ‘A’ student in school. Everybody loved her. She had plenty of friends, plenty of friends,” said the aunt. --A.L.
