The Tigers will be well represented in the All Star Game next Tuesday in Minneapolis.
The team's website reports that Miguel Cabrera, Victor Martinez and pitcher Max Scherzer have been selected to play for the American League.
The team reported that Cabrera was voted on to the team by fans, while players voted in Martinez and Scherzer.
As for Rick Porcello? Well, that's still up in the air.
Jason Beck of MLB.com reports:
Back-to-back shutouts and a 25-inning scoreless streak weren't enough to earn Rick Porcello a spot on this year's All-Star team -- not yet, anyway. He's going to need to avoid such stingy numbers at the ballot to get there.
While the Tigers put three players on this year's American League All-Star team, Porcello became the latest Tiger added onto the All-Star Final Vote. He'll vie with fellow AL starting pitchers Dallas Keuchel (Astros), Corey Kluber (Indians), Garrett Richards (Angels) and Chris Sale (White Sox) for a guaranteed spot.
