Longtime Detroit air personality Ken Calvert is retiring from the morning show on WCSX-FM (94.7) after 13 years with the station, Susan Whitall reports in The Detroit News.

His last show will be Dec. 20

Since June, with the addition of former Drew & Mike news anchor Trudi Daniels, the show has been known as “the WCSX Morning Show with K.C. and Trudi.” According to Greater Media spokeswoman Heidi Raphael, Daniels will continue to host the show, with Jim O’Brien producing, and contributing on the air.

Calvert took over WCSX’s morning show in 2010, which restored music to the airwaves after Deminski & Doyle flamed out with a talk format. D&D replaced the “J.J. and Lynne” show in 2009.

Calvert, who graduated from Brother Rice High School, worked at FM stations WWWW, WABX, WRIF and WLLZ, as well as WJR-AM.

He was also the public address announcer for the Detroit Pistons for 16 years.
