Our campaign to raise funds for Deadline Detroit continues through the end of June while we actively work on getting investors and reorganizing our business plan.
Again, we want to thank our readers for the kind donations that have helped us stay afloat to pay some bills while we move forward.
This note is just a friendly reminder to those who would like to donate something.
Again, some have asked: "Why should we pay for something we can get for free? Why would a business ask for a donation?"
Well, the answer is that unlike businesses that sell a product, we -- just like public radio -- give our product away for free.
Giving a $5 or $10 or $25 donation for a year's worth of news isn't unreasonable.
And yes, it's free, so long as we exist.
Our plan is to continue publishing one way or another.
