One thing for sure: Bigotry never goes out of style.

Oralandar Brand-Williams of the Detroit News writes that police are investigating the vandalism of campaign signs of openly gay candidate for mayor of Southfield, Ken Silver, including one sign defaced with anti-gay slurs.

The News reports that Siver, a former city councilman running against city council president Sylvia Jordan,  said Thursday that two of his signs were destroyed and a third was defaced with the homophobic slurs.

“Our detectives will go to the location where the crime occurred and canvass the area to find out if anyone witnessed the crime or can provide any information,”  Southfield Deputy Police Chief Nick Loussia told the News. “We will also try to find out if there are any security cameras in the area that may have captured the suspect(s) committing the crime.”
