While the latest polling still had Michigan as a blue state, both sides still are giving the state attention Bill Clinton and Donald Trump's daughter Invanka came Wednesday.
Bill Clinton made an unexpected Detroit visit to meet privately with city political and religious leaders, hoping to boost African-American voter turnout on Election Day for his wife, according to Chad Livengood of The Detroit News.
U.S. Sen. Cory Booker from New Jersey and Rev. Jesse Jackson campaign Thursday in the city.
“Election’s coming. We want a good turnout,” Bill Clinton said as he arrived Wednesday night at Fellowship Chapel in Detroit.
Meanwhile, Ivanka Trump appeared in Troy that evening at a business roundtable and community forum.
“My father swings for the fences, but he executes,” Trump told a crowd of about 1,000 people gathered at the Detroit Marriott Troy, reports Candice Williams of The News. “He’s going to dream big for our country. He’s not going to be afraid of our success.”
