A can of sardines comes to mind when you hear what could happen to the size of classes in the Detroit Public Schools.
The Detroit News reports that class sizes could grow substantially under a new three-year contract imposed last week on unions before the district takes any corrective action to reduce the number of students.
The News reports that previously the maximum class size for grades K-3 was 25. Under the new contract, it will be 41 before the district might take action.
The previous limit for grades 4-5 was 30; now it's 46.
