What happens in Lakeland doesn't stay in Lakeland, particularly when teammate Joba Chamberlain tweets this snapshot.

It has been retweeted more than 1,000 times since Sunday, including by Kate Upton. She's the model at right, showing novice swimsuit model Bryan Holaday how to strike a pose.

Chamberlain's tweet doesn't explain -- as though anyone could -- why Holaday slipped into a patriotic one-piece from designer Charlotte Beard at a poolside party. Seems a fair call that adult beverages were served and spring (training) fever is involved.

The shapely 26-year-old catcher from Dallas played in 33 games last season as Alex Avila's understudy.

Guests at the hotel party also included Justin Verlander and Max Scherzer, reports David Brown of Yahoo Sports. Upton was there with Verlander. (You knew that, right?)

Tony Augusty of The Detroit News notes:

It’s really the tiny hat that makes the shot. And, no, Holaday is not a rookie, so this is not some sort of hazing ritual. He wanted to do this.

(No prize -- just fun and glory.)
