Carbon monoxide poisoning killed a family of six in Fenton Township in Genesee County on Sunday, Fox 2 reports.

The Genesee County Sheriff's Department said it appeared the carbon monoxide came from a generator in the basement that was running because of a power shortage, the result of high winds on Friday, Hannah Saunders of Fox 2 reports.

Fox 2 reports that two adults and four children, ranging in age from 1 to 12 years old, were found inside the home in  the 13000 block of Stony Brook Pass.
