Charges are being sought against a Detroit Cass Tech football star accused of attacking a security guard, online court documents reveal, according to the Free Press.

Elisha Anderson reports records show a recommendation for a warrant on an assault charge was filed today in 36th District Court in a case against Jayru Campbell, 17, a quarterback who is verbally committed to play college football at Michigan State University.

The possible charges listed include assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder and aggravated assault, according to the records online.

Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy scheduled a news conference at 2 p.m. Tuesday to announce a charging decision.
