Police believe there's a cat killer, or killers, on the loose in Hazel Park.
A $1,000 reward is offered for information pointing to whoever killed five cats there in the past two months, Mike Martindale writes in The Detroit News:
Police are looking into at least five deaths of feral cats, which they believe may have been done by the same person or people. The dead cats were found near E. George Street, west of Interstate 75 and north of Eight Mile, between late September and early October, Hazel Park Police Chief Martin Barner said.
"I am an animal lover, and it is hard to believe someone would be deranged enough to do something like this to a defenseless animal," Barner said.
