Just in time for this year's St. Patrick's Day parade Sunday, the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office announced today that Fox 2 reporter Charlie LeDuff won’t face charges in connection with a brawl with a security guard during the parade last year.
About a year ago, the prosecutor’s office received cross-complaining warrants — a security guard, 58 years old at the time, accused LeDuff of assaulting him and LeDuff accused the security guard of assault, as well, Gina Damron reports in the Free Press.
The prosecutor’s office denied the warrants filed in both cases.
According to a police report, LeDuff was intoxicated during the Detroit St. Patrick’s Parade on March 10, 2013 when he got into a fight after urinating in public near Brooklyn Street and Michigan Avenue.
According to a report, the security guard told police he convinced LeDuff to sit down, but then heard the reporter arguing with three women, saw a fight break out and tried to separate LeDuff, but the reporter bit his finger.
LeDuff, who has made a name for himself and broken numerous stories with his unorthodox style, has been largely doing reports from around the country since the first of the year.
