Kid Rock
Chevy and Kid Rock have parted ways.
Chevy says it's relationship with Kid Rock, who helped promote its brand, has run its course and is done, but remains amicable, Stephanie Hernandez McGavin of Automotive News reports.
Chevy will now turn to country music star Luke Bryan as a brand ambassador for the next three years, Automotive News reports. A Chevy spokesman said Bryan has an authentic interest in Chevrolet. Bryan said he grew up on a farm and that is one of the reasons he is devoted to the brand.
Chevy sponsored Kid Rock's summer tour in 2015, which encountered some controversy after reports surfaced that Kid Rock had used the Confederate flag at this concerts before his relationship began with Chevy, Automotive News reports. Chevy supported him through the controversy, and kept the sponsorship going.
"Chevrolet has enjoyed its relationship with Kid Rock, both sponsoring his 2015 summer concert tour as well as collaborating with him on the creation of his customized 2016 Silverado 3500HD that we displayed at the SEMA show in Las Vegas," the company said in a statement. " While our business arrangement concluded at the end of 2015, our relationship remains amicable.”
