Monthly sales numbers for the Big Three automakers were up in June, but it was especially good news for Chrysler. The Fiat-owned automaker posted its best sales figures since the pre-bankruptcy era.

Forbes: The Auburn Hills, Mich. company’s sales increased 8%. Ram truck sales rose 23%–the largest increase of any Chrysler brand last month. Dodge sales gained 12%, on strength from the new Dodge Dart.

June represents the 39 consecutive month of sales increases for Chrysler, and overall, observers anticipate industry-wide figures will show similar trends.

This was Chrysler's best June since 2007.

Forbes reports that, industry-wide, vehicle sales are expected to have increased 6.9% in June.

UPDATE: The Free Press reports that, driven by sales of the F150 pick-up and small cars, Ford's June sales were up 13%.

Ford said sales of its small cars, including the Focus, Fiesta and C-Max, increased 39%. However, sales fell 1.0% for Ford’s struggling Lincoln brand with sales of the MKZ, its new midsize sedan, up just 1.4%.

Hopefully, 2013's second half will be as good as the first half..
